Settinganexampleagainsttheevilcustomofdowry,BSFconstableJitendraSinghsaidaclearnotothecashbeingofferedtohimatthewedding.Initially,thebride’sparentswereshockedastheythoughtthebaraatis(weddingguests)wereunhappywithsomeoftheirarrangements,howevereveryonehadtearsofjoyafterseeingthegesturebythebridegroom.JitendragotmarriedtoChanchalShekawatinthecityonSaturday.

当记者联系到在Chattisgarh发帖的BSF警员吉腾德拉·辛格时，他说:“当我得知未来的妻子已经完成了LLB和LLM学业，并在攻读博士学位时，我觉得她对我和我的家人来说已经足够好了。我决定不接受任何嫁妆，我的家人决定在婚礼当天向我的姻亲宣布这个决定。”
